  • Staff in the Heuristic Centre genuinely enjoy their work & show real interest in every baby as an individual
  • There is less organised play in the Heuristic Centre compared with other rooms, as the babies own routine is followed
  • Books & songs feature strongly in our daily routine.
  • We follow the EYSF and prepare all baby food in house from weaning onwards

TODDLERS (18 months - 3 Years)

Separate rooms for different ages.
Ratio 1-3 under 2 and 1-4 aged 2 to 3 years.
Providing a wide collection of opportunities for toddlers to explore, investigate and learn in a safe, stimulating environment. We encourage toddlers to paint, draw and engage in a wide range of activities, in quieter moments there is time to look at books and in treasure baskets. We promote independent learning, social skills and personal development essential for all toddlers. We ensure that toddlers can have the opportunity to rest if necessary, sleeping on comfortable sleep mats or in a cot. the staff team works closely together with parents support to cater for your child's individual needs.

RISERS (3 - 5 Years)

Colourful, attractive and stimulating. Walls are decorated with bright and colourful displays, including examples of children's work connected to the current topic. Interest tables, termly newsletters and topic plans feature. Between the ages of 3 and 5 the ratio is 1:8. Staff are experienced and qualified to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage. From the moment the children arrive they are given a choice of activities set out with materials that will vary throughout the year. In both our pre-school rooms we offer a wide range of resources set out in a varied and attractive way.
