A Little About Us

We are a husband and wife team living near Holme Lacy with our four children, Alfie aged 13, Jake aged 12, Isabella aged 10, Jude aged 8, our puppy (Cookie Born December 2022, who is very tame and loving but kept in her own playpen during childminding hours and brough out for supervised interactions), turtles and a tortoise.

I am insured and an Ofsted registered childminder.

 

I hold a wide range of relevant childcare qualifications including Level 5 in EYFS, I have Level 3 qualifications in Childcare, Child Psychology and SEND. Studying, learning and improving my own knowledge is something that I am passionate about as I want to help children to develop and thrive in our setting.

 

I have researched and studied a lot of different methods of teaching and am greatly influenced by 'Montessori', 'Waldorf', 'Curiosity Approach' and 'Hygge'. I am also working towards my accreditation for 'Hygge in Early Years'. I have over 10 years of professional childcare experience including working as a childminder, in a nursery and school settings. I have also run playgroups and helped out in rainbows, beavers and cubs! I was also co-chair of governors at my children’s old school for 4 years. I am also a Mentor for Childminders through DFE. I am also the treasurer 

 

Communication is such an important role in helping children to develop and we start this at a young age with 'sing and sign', lots of reading, nursery rhymes and one to one time.

 

 I have also studied many methods of sleep training and adapt these methods to individual children. No one method suits all and I am happy to help parents with this as I know how hard it is functioning the next day with a lack of sleep.

 

I love working with children and am still fascinated by these little people who with one smile can brighten your day in an instant!

Andy

 

Andy is an insured and an Ofsted registered childminder.

​

For almost three years, Andy has been dedicated to full-time childminding, considering it the most rewarding choice he has ever made. He has completed essential training, including Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding, Early Years Foundation Stage, and Food Hygiene, and holds an enhanced DBS. Andy is eager to pursue additional courses, demonstrating his commitment to continuously enhance his knowledge in childcare.
